Saturday 20th March 2010

Honours ended even at The Carlsberg Stadium as Bromsgrove Rovers gained another valuable point towards safety against hosts Biggleswade Town. The Waders had to thank goalkeeper Dean Bull who turned in a man of the match display pulling off numerous saves to keep Rovers at bay.
Biggleswade's Aaran Cavill was inches away from opening the scoring in the 17th minute, but his rasping 25 yarder cannoned back off the crossbar with visiting goalie Karl Lewis beaten.
Bromsgrove opened the scoring in the 20th minute after new signing Fabian Iacovelli outpaced the Wader's defenders to collect the ball by the touch-line. He pulled the ball back to Luke Benbow, his effort was parried away by Bull but Sam Wills was first to the rebound to slam the ball home.
The lead only lasted eight minutes after Lewis misjudged his clearing header outside the box, the ball fell for Jamie Steele who hooked the ball home into the unguarded net for the equaliser.
Rovers should have been out of sight before half time but for the heroics of Bull in the Wader's goal, after pulling off saves from Gavin Winsper, Benbow and Iacovelli. Wills saw Bull pull off an unconventional save to keep his effort out and keep the scores level at the break.
Two minutes into the second half Bull again denied Iacovelli turning his effort around the post, and when Rovers finally beat Bull, Mark Webster was on hand to clear Benbow's effort off the line after 52 minutes.
On the hour Lewis turned Glen Lamacraft's effort past the left hand post and seven minutes later substitute Brett Donnelly sent a looping header over Lewis's crossbar.
Eleven minutes from time Bull again palmed away Benbow's effort past the post. Just before the end substitute Pheon Jolly won a challenge for the ball with Bull, Wills smashed the rebound against the crossbar.
Biggleswade thought they had claimed all three points when James Hall bundled the ball into the Rovers net but was ruled out for offside by the assistant's flag.
On any other day Rovers would have won by a canter but for an inspired display from Bull in goal.
