A brace from Danny Campbell led Bromsgrove Rovers to a convincing win over Beaconsfield SYCOB at a rain sodden, wind swept Victoria Ground. Rovers included new signing Gavin Winsper from Stourbridge in midfield. Right from the start The Greens took the game to Beaconsfield with their goalkeeper Tom McNeil pulling off two superb savesto deny Mark Owen and Alex Woodhouse in the opening minutes. Campbell opened The Greens account in the fifth minute outpacing The Rams defence to collect Danny Scheppel's through ball and sliding the ball under the advancing McNeil into the net. Seven minutes later Bromsgrove doubled their advantage as Jemiah Richards rose un-marked at the near post to head home a Cameron jones right wing corner. Rovers almost made it three in the 21st minute, Owen rolled off his marker to create a one-on-one situation with McNeil who denied the striker with another fine stop. Four minutes later the over worked McNeil claimed a free-kick at the foot of his right hand post from Kevin Banner. Beaconsfield's Trevor Charlery gave the pitch a rue-full look at the pitch after sending his effort high and well wide of Karl Lewis's goal in the 40th minute. Three minutes later The Rams halved the deficite, Captain Ross Ahir's flick from Chris Owen's free-kick was parried away by Lewis and Ahir was first to react to slam the rebound into the net from close range. Rapinder Gill was on hand yo clear Dan Tilbury's effort off the line to keep Rovers lead intackt at the start of the second-half. Both benches received a lenghty lecture from the referee Mr John Sheffield in the 57th minute after a heated argument boiled over. Campbell wrapped up the points with a sublime finish from the left hand side of the area which surprised McNeil at his near post in the 64th minute. Beaconsfield's Charlie Hill fired in an effort just wide of Lewis's right hand post in the 67th minute after wriggling away from Richards challenge. Gavin Mernagh's long range effort flew a yard wide of goal on 71 minutes as the visitors upped their work-rate. Winsper almost marked his debut with a goal but his effort rolled agonisingly wide of McNeil's left hand post and Jones had an effort blocked by Ryan Bernard on the edge of the area in the later stages. Lewis pulled off a good save on his goal-line to deny Mernagh ten minutes from time. The game became bogged down in the centre as the rain continued to fall but it was Rovers who climbed out of the bottom three with three valuable points.
