Bromsgrove had to battle back from a two goal deficit to claim a point against a battling Romulus side at The Victoria Ground. Strikes from Dexter Ravenhill and Joshua McKenzie cancelled out first half goals from Leon Blake and Leo Brown.
Rovers gifted Romulus the lead in the 7th minute, when Rapinder Gill and Karl Lewis left the ball for each other to clear, this allowed Rom's striker Blake to nip in and score an easy goal.
Romulus doubled their advantage in the 32nd minute Lei Brown's left wing corner was met at the far post by Leo Brown who out-jumped the Rovers defender's to power home his header past Lewis.
The Green's pulled a goal back two minutes later, McKenzie picked the ball up on the left hand side of the area, he found strike partner Ravenhill un-marked inside the area, he had time and space to control and pick his spot past Rom's goalkeeper Mathew Sargeant. Luke Findley had an effort that cleared the crossbar three minutes before the break.
Bromsgrove applied the pressure right from the start of the second half, Findley cut inside off the left wing and un-leashed an effort that was well saved by Sargeant low to his right after 47 minutes. Two minutes later Findley had another attempt which he dragged wide of the left hand post. Luke Darby's effort from his own half flew a yard wide of the Romulus goal a minute later.
The pressure finally told in the 51st minute after Sargeant completely missed Ravenhill's cross and McKenzie squeezed the ball home from an acute angle for the equaliser. On the hour mark Sargeant was down smartly to his left to collect Gary Ray's effort
The game lost it's impetus after a mass of substitutions from both sides.
McKenzie ran onto a through ball from Findley in the 83rd minute but Sargeant reacted quickly to claim to claim the ball at the striker’s feet.
Romulus almost sneaked all three points, Tom Franklin broke down the right and drilled the ball across the face of goal but substitute Marcus Brown was inches away from getting the finishing touch leaving both teams to settle for a draw and a point apiece.
